Babywearing doesn't always come easily. Just like true Olympians, we often have obstacles to overcome while learning. I was so inspired by the submissions of this weeks challenge- you have all come so far and should be incredibly proud of yourselves! Bonus points seeing so many Daddy's! Hurry over to our facebook group so you can cast your votes for our final medalists (and don't forget to vote for yourself!) Voting closes at Midnight on Friday.
Overcoming Obstacles: What babywearing obstacles have you had to overcome?
Look what came today! This BBSlen Pink Pepper is a whopping size 8/5.6 meters. It will be getting a mini makeover (aka chop job) before being added to the library though. What size(s) would you like to see it in?? Please leave your suggestions in the comments!
BBSlens are 100% cotton wraps known for being exceptionally toddler (or preschool ) worth because they are one of the widest wraps on the market! It's a medium thickness with a denser weave which makes Alicia's daughter's 33 pounds feel almost weightless!
Made with unfinished wooden rings and scraps from woven wraps, these are the perfect toy for your little one to play with while being worn, and a gorgeous accessory for mama! My favorite trick is to turn the necklace backwards while back carrying, which works great at deterring hair pullers. Price is $15 each, and these will be available for purchase at our meetings. If necessary, we're happy to ship to you for an additional charge
The votes have been tallied and the winners announced!
Congratulations to our 3 medalists in
Event #2 Red, White and Blue: Show Your USA Pride

Heather won $10 off her membership, Brittany won $5 off her membership and Heather won a 13th month free! Just for taking a pretty picture :)
Awesome job ladies!
Today starts the Overcoming Obstacles photo challenge. Babywearing doesn't always come easily. Just like true Olympians, we often have obstacles to overcome while learning. I can't wait to see what photos y'all have of overcoming babywearing obstacles!
Another beautiful collection of photos this week! We asked you to show us your USA pride and goodness did you deliver. I am going to be really sad when our Babywearing Olympics are over because I have enjoyed seeing all of your photographs so much! Hurry over to our facebook group so you can cast your votes for our final medalists (and don't forget to vote for yourself!) Voting closes at Midnight on Friday.
We are so thrilled to announce our newest addition to the Lending Library. A huge thank you goes out to Pavo for their generous surprise donation! Action shots coming soon...
We know that everyone is going to be super excited to check Taj out! But as a way of giving everyone a chance to play with it and to help soften it up some (it's quite a beast currently!) we'll be letting her travel the meetings first before allowing her to be checked out.
Can I just say how excited I am about our first set of submissions for the Babywearing Winter Olympic Games! You ladies did an outstanding job! I wish we could award each and every one of you a medal, but alas Only 3 get to take away the Gold, Silver and Bronze. Don't forget to cast your vote at our group page on facebook!!

2/15/14- Red, White, and Blue: Show your USA pride
Welcome to the first Babywearing Winter Olympic Games! Games will start on Saturday, February 8th and there will be 5 medal competitions, plus a grand prize. Each competition will last for a week. To enter, you'll need to take a photo or video that fits with the theme of the competition and post it to our group page. To win, you need people to like the reply with your photo. The most likes for each contest takes the gold, second is silver, and third is bronze. Pictures must be received by midnight on the 5th day of the contest. Members will then have two days to vote.
Gold medalists get $10 off a BWI membership or renewal, Silver gets $5 off, and Bronze gets a bonus 13th month. Prizes must be claimed by April 15,2014 and have no cash value. Prizes may be transferred, but are only good for BWI of Cleveland and may not be applied to any other BWI chapter. Prizes may not be combined. (If you win twice, you can give away or forfeit the lesser prize, and the next photo in line will be moved up.) You may enter each contest with as many photos as you'd like. At the end of the Games, all 5 Gold medalists will be entered in a Grand Prize contest, for an even bigger prize!
